Growing up under Soviet influence, where religion was discouraged, Kristin viewed Christianity with deep skepticism. As a history teacher in Estonia, she was intrigued by the Bible but remained distant from faith.
Everything changed when Kristin encountered the love of Jesus through a missionary family at her school.
This family invested in a relationship with Kristin, inviting her to game nights and other gatherings in their home. She was struck by the lightness and joyfulness she felt in their presence. They invited her to attend an Alpha Course at Focus Church.
- Alpha is a series of group conversations that freely explore the basics of the
Christian faith in an open, friendly environment.
Though skeptical, Kristin accepted, saying, “They can go ahead and try to brainwash me.”
“I was looking for the meaning of life, and nothing made sense. I had traveled and lived a wild life, coming to the conclusion that there was no purpose,” Kristin recalls.
Yet, through the love of Jesus and community at Focus Church, Kristin began to experience something different.
She was able to explore her questions about faith, finding answers and truth despite her doubt. Kristin was drawn into the church community, even cutting bagels and preparing coffee long before she became a believer.
Eventually, she could not deny the overwhelming love of Jesus and the significance His truth brought to her life.
Kristin’s salvation story is like many others who have encountered the life-changing gospel at Focus Church. Each one is a powerful testimony to the impact they are making in Tallinn, Estonia.

A Church Without a Home
In 2014, Focus Church was planted by Eurasia missionaries with a vision to reach a city desperate for the hope of Christ. Over the past decade, the church has grown to a vibrant community of 150 regular attendees. Despite their growth, they have been a mobile church for the last five years, setting up and tearing down each week.
In a single moment, the ceiling of their rented space collapsed, destroying all their equipment. By God’s grace, no one was injured, but their loss was heartbreaking.
Now they’ve found a new place to call home — one that will be available 24/7, allowing them to expand their ministry in exciting ways.
How You Can Help
It will cost $55,000 to turn the blank canvas of their new space into a vibrant hub of worship, connection, and community. Through their fundraising campaign, called Home Sweet Church, these believers have already raised $29,000 toward their goal! At this point, their funds are depleted, and we want to help them reach the finish line.

These resources are vital for creating a welcoming and effective space for ministry. Hospitality is not common in Estonia, but Focus Church has made it a priority. When they provide relationship-building opportunities over food and coffee, people keep coming back.

The community has brought me rain on days of drought through showing what real love, compassion, support, and encouragement look like. It has brought me closer to Jesus each day and given me a mission to live my life following God’s word and truth.”
Welcoming Estonians into community to experience the love of Jesus has been key in their outreach efforts. Focus Church regularly hosts Alpha Courses for skeptics like Kristin to explore the Christian faith. They serve their neighbors through annual compassion projects and partner with local organizations.

Kristin’s journey didn’t stop at salvation. Soon after she accepted Christ, the Eurasia missionaries at Focus Church saw her passion and potential for leadership. Kristin asked them, “When you find out about Jesus, how do you do anything besides this?”
It’s amazing to hear what God has done in Kristin’s life. Today, she leads Focus Church with the help of 70 volunteers, impacting the Tallinn community in profound ways.
