Abdel stood apart from the crowd during a violent protest. Other young people were throwing rocks at the soldiers and shouting profanities. A news crew noticed and went to interview him.
“Why are you not throwing rocks like everybody else?” the news reporter asked…
Abdel’s response was simple yet profound: “My school teaches me violence is not the answer.”
Abdel is one of the high school students at a private Christian school in a Muslim-majority country. He has been deeply impacted by the truth of God’s Word and the love of his teachers. In the midst of ongoing conflict where tension and violence are a part of daily life, this school stands tall as a beacon of hope and peace.
Since its founding in 1998 with just 39 students, this school has now grown to 800 students. The curriculum is taught in English, with opportunities to learn Arabic and Hebrew. Students experience the truth of the gospel through Bible classes, as well as after-school Bible studies and Christ-focused investment from their teachers.
Through God’s Word, this school is shaping the minds and hearts of the next generation, creating peacemakers like Jesus.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God” –Matthew 5:9
One of the most pressing needs of the school is new Bibles for their students. The current Bibles, which serve as textbooks for their classes, are falling apart. Volunteers spent countless hours taping these precious books back together just to ensure they lasted through the school year.
Will you help us provide for this urgent need so that every student can have a new FireBible this school year?
Each morning the preschoolers and kindergarteners gather outside to wait for the school day to begin. During this time, they sing Children’s Church songs like He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands and God’s Got a Plan for Me.
A School Making a Difference:
You can hear their sweet voices ringing out as they recite the Lord’s Prayer with their hands folded and eyes raised to Heaven. Although they are surrounded by Islam and hear the call to prayer each day, they still sing “my God has a plan for me.”
- Kindergarten Teacher: “We care about each kid. We treat them like precious jewels, and in our school, they’re the jewels of the future.”
- High School Principal: “To be a successful student, you need to feel that this is your second home. We are building leaders. Last year, we had 29 graduates, all of whom are now attending university. You can’t imagine our happiness when these students come back to the community and start serving it as we are doing now.”
- 6th Grade Teacher: “This is my first year, and I am doing my best to earn their hearts. I want them to love Jesus and see that Christianity is about respect and love.”
Your Help is Needed:
We can’t do this without your help. The FireBible is the “Premiere Study Bible for the Spirit-Led Believer.” The goal is to place a FireBible in the hands of every student. The cost of one student FireBible is only $30.
Will you partner with us to provide 800 Bibles for these students?
Your contribution, whether it’s one Bible or 100 Bibles, will make a significant impact for students like Abdel. With your support, we can ensure that each young person at the school has a new Bible to study and cherish, guiding them in their faith and education.
Along with the need for Bibles in class, there is a dream to gift each graduating senior with a FireBible as they step into the world. In this culture, a Bible is especially revered and honored as the Holy Book. You could provide a personal Bible to nurture the growing faith of each graduate and equip them to continue following Jesus as an adult.
Join Us in This Mission:
Your generosity will help spread the message of peace and love in a region that desperately needs it. Together, we can equip the next generation with the Word of God, fostering a future of hope and peace.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
P.S. Imagine the impact your gift of a FireBible can make in a young person’s life and in the lives of many others in their community.
“My friend was killed in a violent protest. This loss could have filled me with rage, but my school changed that. The teachers at the school care for us deeply, turning our pain into wisdom and knowledge. They show us a different path, one of peace and love, modeled after Jesus. Without this school, I might have been consumed by violence. Instead, I learned to process life differently, thanks to the care and education I received here.”
